DENVER, CO. (August 25, 2020) — Leading cannabis brand 1906 has signed an agreement with Maryland single-state operator CULTA for production and distribution of its bestselling, fast-acting family of swallowable pills known as Drops. 1906’s arrival means Maryland patients will finally have access to low-dose, rapid-onset, cannabis in a non-combustible format. Drops’ pharma-grade pills range from 2.5-5mg of THC and 2.5-25mg of CBD per dose, carry no taste or aroma, have zero calories, and are gluten- and allergen-free. Available in six formulations, Drops address the most important and pervasive wellness needs of Maryland residents: sleep, anxiety, focus, energy, mood, and libido.
1906 will make its debut in medical dispensaries this fall, as the forward-looking company continues its quest to serve millions of patients and become the number one cannabis brand east of the Rockies.
With 92 registered dispensaries throughout the state, Maryland ranks among the highest in the nation in terms of medical marijuana dispensaries per capita, especially among states that have yet to legalize adult-use cannabis sales. There is also strong potential for the state to open up adult-use in the imminent future.
Building upon the immense success of our Drops in Colorado’s adult-use sector, we’re excited to bring pharma-grade plant medicine in pill format to Maryland’s cannabis patients. It’s particularly important for medical-use patients to have reliable, non-smokable options for consuming cannabis.
Peter Barsoom, 1906’s founder and CEO
Our products offer wholly unique experiences unlike anything else on the market with their 20-minute onset; specific use cases such as better sleep, increased cognitive focus, and diminished anxiety; and low THC and CBD dosage so you always feel in control.
Founded in 2015 by some of Maryland’s most well known business and philanthropic families, CULTA wanted to create a Maryland-only, craft cannabis brand that not only focused on product quality, but also used cannabis as a tool for revitalization. Both 1906 and CULTA are deeply invested in changing the cultural narrative and societal perception surrounding the plant, are committed to the decriminalization of cannabis, and are proud supporters and contributors to The Last Prisoner Project.
By entering into a partnership with 1906, we are expanding our product offering to include best-in-class, effect-driven ingestibles in pill format. Maryland patients will have more options to consume their medicine backed by two trusted brands.
CULTA President, CEO and co-founder Mackie Barch
