The National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) announced the results of the election for the Board of Directors. The board consists of 22 members who serve two-year terms, with the election staggered. This year, 22 sought the 11 open seats, including 10 incumbents. The only incumbent who wasn’t reelected was Scott Van Rixel of Bhang Corporation, who had served a single term.
The two additions to the board include Neal Levine of LivWell Enlightened Health and Glenn Peterson of Canuvo. Levine, based in Las Vegas (though relocating to Colorado), is SVP of Government Affairs and oversees LivWell’s national government affairs as well as new business expansion. Neal has helped with many leglaziation efforts across the country.Peterson adds geographical diversity to the Board, as he holds one of eight medical cannabis cultivation/dispensing licenses in Maine and operates a 118K s.f. cultivation facility and a 5100 s.f. dispensary.
The incumbents who were reelected include John Davis, Troy Dayton, Etienne Fontan, Aaron Justis, Kris Krane, Jaime Lewis, Lance Ott, Erich Pearson and Ean Seeb. The eleven directors serving out the second year of their current term include Cody Bass, Jessica Billingsley, AC Braddock, Max Cohen, Steve DeAngelo, Dale Sky Jones, Rob Kampia, Tripp Keber, Kayvan Khalatbari, Khurshid Khoja and Christian Sederberg.
NCIA promotes the growth of a responsible and legitimate cannabis industry and works for a favorable social, economic and legal environment for the industry. It will be hosting the Cannabis Business Summit in Oakland from June 20-22.
