Lift spoke with Adam Greenblatt of Sante Cannabis today on last night’s election results and his thoughts on what this means for cannabis legalization and regulation moving forward. Adam is a self-taught advocate for safe access to medical cannabis and sensible drug policy reform. He is currently the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Santé Cannabis, Montréal’s first cannabinoid clinic and medical cannabis resource centre. Adam was a panelist at the Lift Cannabis Forum in Toronto this past Summer, and an outspoken and articulate voice in the conversation in Canada around cannabis.
Retail cannabis stores in early 2016? Will regulation mean state monopolies on production or sale, or a free market system that is allowed to find its own place in the market? Will the Liberals remove cannabis from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act? Will patient’s rights be protected in the expected next ‘green wave’ for recreational use? Is cannabis really legal now, or do we have to wait for further guidance? Will dispensaries owner now be further emboldened, to disregard existing rules and laws? Tune in for the exciting answers!
