David Brown of Lift toured the Tweed facility in Smith Falls, Ontario and interviewed the Master Grower, Ryan Douglas, a Maine native who has held that role for over two years. The article includes some incredible photos, which are alone worth a visit, but David’s and Ryan’s discussion is fascinating. Douglas has extensive horticultural experience since graduating from Antioch College in 1998, but he had no commercial cannabis growing experience before Tweed hired him.
So one benefit I think of coming from a varied horticultural background is that there actually is not one correct way to grow a plant. There are as many successful ways of growing as there are growers out there.
Brown covers a lot of ground with Douglas, who admits to trying to grow too many strains initially. He also shares some tips on what it takes to get hired.
