On January 28th, MedWest, a highly-regarded cannabis wholesale distributor in California that provided Bhang-branded and other products extracted from CO2 to state-legal businesses, was suddenly raided by local police in San Diego. Two months later, the company has no answers regarding why it was raided and has not been charged, yet it has no access to its confiscated assets. CEO James Slatic, who is a founding board member of the California Cannabis Industry Association and of the Nevada Cannabis Industry Association and a founding member of the National Cannabis Industry Association, wasn’t arrested or charged with any crime, yet he has no access to his personal or business bank accounts.
The company is trying to raise $150,000 for its defense through an Indiegogo campaign, which we encourage our readers to join us in supporting.
