Ananas is a tech startup that has spent the last three months in Boulder, Colorado, under the tutelage of the cannabis accelerator CanopyBoulder and is close to finalizing a $150K seed round, according to the the Philadelphia Business Journal. The company is part of CanopyBoulder’s second class and is focused on applying induction technology to create a vaporizer, The Newton, that allows better control of the amount and type of cannabinoids inhaled by a medical patient. The two founders, Andrew Kristof and Roberto Lombino, plan to add three employees by year-end. The company anticipates a cost of $600-800 for the device.
“We recognize that within the market, there’s a lack of precise methods of patients to consume cannabis. We are creating a product designed purely for medical patients and not just recreational users.”
