Operational Update: Aurora Cannabis Surpasses 6,500 Registered Patients, Achieves $1 Million Gross Revenue for Month of July
VANCOUVER, Aug. 11, 2016 /CNW/ – Aurora Cannabis Inc. (CSE: ACB) (OTCQB: ACBFF) (“Aurora” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide the following operational update.
Continued Rapid Growth in Patient Registration
On August 5, 2016, Aurora surpassed 6,500 active registered patients, exactly seven months after the Company’s first sale of product. This is believed to be the fastest rate of patient registration after commencement of commercial operations achieved by any Licensed Producer in Canada.
First $1 Million Month, 24% Month-over-month Sales Growth
Gross revenue for the month of July, 2016 reached $1 million, the first time Aurora has achieved that milestone. Sales of dried cannabis showed strong month-over-month growth, with total weight of product sold in July, 2016 reaching 124,000 grams, versus 100,000 grams sold in June, 2016.
Calgary Same-Day Delivery Successful, Cost-Effective
Launched in May, 2016, same-day delivery of medical cannabis to clients in Calgary and surrounding communities has proven popular and successful. More than 75% of Aurora patients in the Metro Calgary area are now receiving their product orders within 24 hours, through same-day delivery and subsequently-introduced overnight/next-day delivery. In addition, this secure, fast courier delivery program is now serving a critical mass of customers large enough that the cost to Aurora is actually lower than the previously used standard delivery service.
Stockpiling Cannabis Oils
Aurora’s extract team has been operating its GMP-compliant CO2 Supercritical Fluid Extraction unit with consistent success, and bottling cannabis oil and storing cannabis concentrate to meet significant anticipated demand once the Company is licensed for oil sales. The Company intends on rolling out a line of ingestible cannabis oils beginning with a high THC oil extracted from Aurora’s popular 32% THC strain Warwick #2, and a high CBD oil product extracted from Aurora’s flagship 24% CBD product Temple.
The Aurora Standard continues to deliver. To grow to over 6,500 registered patients in seven months is unheard of, and has only been possible due to consistent execution on our production, commercial and customer experience strategies.
