On November 16, 2017, California’s three state cannabis licensing authorities publicly noticed proposed emergency regulations for commercial medicinal and adult-use cannabis. The regulations cover the types of licenses and enforcement and discuss a transition period from January 1 through June 30th.
One controversial rule is that edible doses may not exceed 10mg of THC, and adult-use products may not exceed 100mg per package. Fortunately, medicinal cannabis products will not be subject to this limitation. The rules discuss a phasing in of the testing of cannabis products, with a complete transition by the end of 2018.
