CanopyBoulder, the first cannabis industry accelerator, is now taking applications for its Fall class, which will take place in Oakland, California from August through November following three cohorts since 2015 that have taken place in Boulder, Colorado. The company has posted an application that is due by June 24th.
Aspiring entrepreneurs that operate in the ancillary space and don’t grow, process, test or sell cannabis or cannabis products must relocate to Oakland for the entire duration of the 16-week program. In exchange for up to 9.5% of the equity in the company, entrepreneurs will receive up to $70K in seed funding and access to mentor-driven training. The goals of the program include defining the minimum viable product, learning to conduct market research, validating customer assumptions, determining funding sources, developing a go-to-market strategy, refining business and financial models, learning to network within the industry and raising funds.
