Austin-based Fluence Bioengineering, formerly BML Horticulture, is thriving in the cannabis industry despite being headquartered in Texas, where cannabis remains illegal. For the third time in three years, the company had to move to larger space as its sales, 80% of which are from the cannabis industry in the U.S. and Canada, ramp up. The company, which sells LED lighting systems that sell for $900-1500 each, now operates in a 20K s.f. facility, five times larger than its prior factory, but it is quickly outgrowing its new home. The company counts Colorado’s LivWell as a client and will be providing its lighting systems to Lucky Edibles in Las Vegas.
