Deloitte Canada, which will be issuing a report “Recreational Marijuana: Insights and Opportunities”, is bullish on the Canadian cannabis industry, suggesting that the industry could see sales of $4.9-8.7 billion after legalization, according to a report by the Toronto Star. Deloitte based its findings on a survey of 5000 Canadians that was done with market research firm RIWI, Corp. An economic forecast earlier this year from CIBC put the legal cannabis industry as big big as $10 billion. Deloitte’s analysis projects an even larger market taking into account the ancillary goods and services that will support the industry, suggesting that the overall market could be worth $12.7-22.6 billion, though this estimate excludes tourism and paraphernalia.
