We reported earlier this month that Denver, fearing saturation of the cannabis market, was contemplating extending by two years a moratorium on new licenses set to expire on January 1st. Marijuana industry attorney Sean McAllister of the McAllister Law Firm alerted us to a delay in the decision, which was to have been made today at a meeting:
Today, the City Council extended the time to convert from medical to recreational for 120 days, but implemented a moratorium on new medical facilities starting January 1. They have not made a final decision on extending this plan for a full two years.
