Colorado-based Grownetics, focused on providing automated analytical tools for cannabis cultivators, continues to make progress in its product development since graduating from cannabis business accelerator CanopyBoulder’s second cohort in 2015. The company now monitors nine different characteristics, including air temperature, CO2 levels, humidity, water temperature, power usage and several others, providing phone or text alerts when any of the variables fall out of range.
One company that is using its technology is Sonoma-based Fleurish Farms, which describes itself as a next-generation research farm and is known for its pure flower oil (PFO) rosin. Fleurish Farms is developing Dynamic Supplemental Sunlight™ (DSS), a cultivation technique that captures natural sunlight within a fully insulated indoor grow, saving energy costs while potentially providing a higher quality product. In the video below, CEO Dr. Jonathan Cachat describes DSS, while Dr. Joshua Earlenbaugh, Co-Founder and Master Grower, explains how Grownetics is helping Fleurish Farms to develop it. According to Earlenbaugh, he is able to get to all of his data from his grow in one place, his smart phone.
