Data analytics provides the legal cannabis industry a great opportunity to learn more about its customers and to run more efficiently, but it’s an area where mainstream companies haven’t entered, opening the doors to startups like Flowhub and Cannabis Reports to help retailers and producers. One of the early attempts to address the lack of is Headset, which was founded last year by Cy Scott and the team that originally launched Leafly.
Headset services both producers and retailers, providing tools for the latter such as inventory forecasting, sales and assortment and budtender reports and brand management for producers. The company, which is integrated with Flowhub, went live earlier this year and is already tracking more than $65mm of cannabis transactions, according to CEO Scott.
