Health Canada updated its website today, announcing an increase in the number of licensed producers to 82. Both of the new licenses were awarded to facilities in Quebec, including Agri-Médic ASP Inc. and Vert Cannabis, wholly owned by Canopy Growth (TSX: WEED) (OTC: TWMJF). This doubles the number of LPs in the province to 4.
Two LPs received production licenses as well, including ABcann (TSXV: ABCN) (OTC: ABCCF) and Canada’s Island Garden. ABcann was originally licensed for cultivation in March, 2014, while Canada’s Island Garden received its license in June, 2016. Health Canada has now issued a total of 34 licenses to produce and/or sell cannabis oils.
