Illinois adult-use cannabis sales of $130.7 million increased 1.0% sequentially in September despite one less day. Compared to a year ago, growth was a bit higher than the 6.2% rate in August, rising 7.4%:
2021 adult-use sales of $1.38 billion increased 106% over 2020 in Illinois, and year-to-date sales of $1.15 billion have increased 15.0% so far in 2022. During September, sales to non-residents decreased from 31.8% in August to 31.5% of total sales:
The state separately releases sales from its medical program, which showed that they were down 3.1% sequentially in September at $28.97 million. This was down 13.1% from a year ago:
Total sales were $158.7 million, which was up 0.2% sequentially and up 3.1% from a year ago.
For the first nine months of the year, total sales have been $1.41 billion. This is up 9% from the first nine months of 2021. In 2021, combined cannabis sales grew 72% for the full year.
