The Denver Post profiled John Lord, who, with 43 licenses, holds the most in Denver by any individual. His LivWell Enlightened Health is one of the leading Colorado chains, with 14 stores, and it is expanding to Oregon. The New Zealand native was a successful entrepreneur in the baby products industry before stumbling by accident into the cannabis industry in 2008. Like many newcomers to the industry, Lord isn’t much of a consumer, though he does now use topicals.
While he has emerged as an early winner, Lord has run into a number of challenges along the way and now maintains a team working on compliance that exceeds 40 employees. LivWell’s grow facility is 140K s.f.
