Massachusetts, which had previously banned all cannabis vape sales last year, has taken the nations’s most aggressive action with respect to the COVID-19 crisis. The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission has issued a Summary Cease and Desist Order that will go into effect tomorrow, March 24th, ordering adult-use stores to cease operations.
The order exempts co-located Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers but requires stand-alone facilities to close their workplaces and facilities to workers, customers and the public through April 7th.
Nevada ordered all dispensaries to close but permits delivery. Massachusetts doesn’t have a delivery option at this time, so adults who don’t have medical cards are blocked from buying cannabis legally for the next two weeks.
Note: We have updated the article after clarification that co-located stores can not serve the adult-use market during the two-week cease and desist period
