Grownetics, which offers integrated software and hardware tools to optimize cultivation among intelligent farming systems, won a $5000 prize earlier this month at the University of Colorado New Venture Challenge in Boulder. The company, a graduate of the second cohort at CanopyBoulder, is targeting multiple markets, including cannabis growers.
Headed by CEO Eli Duffy, Grownetics reports sales of $156K in the past six months. The automation the company provides using sensors and software allows growers to tightly control many variables, like humidity and temperature, and helps them to reduce operating costs and to identify nutrient deficiencies or potential pest infestations. The system helps reduce water and energy consumption as well.
